UNITY IS OUR GREATEST STRENGTH

The MAJORITY of Sunol residents are OPPOSED to the outsider-driven recall attempt of our Sunol Glen School Board members Dr. Ryan Jergensen & Linda Hurley.

In an effort to divide our small town, some outside residents of Fremont, Oakland, San Jose, and other cities and municipalities have been leading the recall efforts along with a select few residents of Sunol. Dr. Jergensen and Mrs. Hurley are long-time Sunol residents doing their best for our community, our school and our students.

Our town should be focused instead on unifying solutions and coming together as One Sunol!

Dr. Ryan Jergensen

Committed Father of Six

Dr. Ryan Jergensen, DDS, has been dedicated to serving the Sunol Glen community since joining the Sunol Glen School Board in 2021.

As a devoted father of six, including four current Sunol Glen students, Dr. Jergensen and his wife Rachel, both Bay Area natives, are deeply rooted in the community. Together with a partner, they own a dental practice in Fremont. Rachel, with her background as a credentialed school teacher, has taught for several years in Bay Area public schools, specializing and credentialed in both general and special education.

Dr. Jergensen is resolute in his commitment to elevate our school's potential, ensuring that Sunol Glen remains a secure, inclusive, and outstanding learning environment for all students. Believing that the exceptional nature of Sunol Glen is attributed to its caring families and dedicated teachers, Dr. Jergensen aims to foster a positive educational focus. He is determined to synchronize the needs of both students and educators, working towards a harmonious learning atmosphere.

As a proactive member of the Sunol Glen School Board, Dr. Jergensen endeavors to enhance the school's excellence by utilizing resources effectively to support students and their education. Emphasizing fiscal responsibility, he believes in creating a school district budget that accurately reflects the community's priorities and needs.

Looking to the future, the Jergensen family anticipates having five students at Sunol Glen next year, further deepening their investment in the school community.

Linda Hurley

40-Year Resident of Sunol, CA

Linda Hurley has been a dedicated member of the Sunol Glen School Board since 2022. With a wealth of experience as a retired teacher and nurse, Ms. Hurley brings a unique perspective to her role as a 40-year resident of Sunol.

Ms. Hurley's ties to Sunol Glen run deep, as all five of her children attended the school. Her involvement extends to serving as a room mother for 12 years and helping to start up the Sunol Community Club, the inaugural parent-teacher community organization in Sunol during the 1980s. This club played a pivotal role in fundraising for various school and student activities.

Before her retirement, Mrs. Hurley served as a trustee at the Santa Clara County Nurses Union for six years. In this capacity, she managed federal and local funding for the union and actively negotiated contracts with the county.

In addition to her contributions to Sunol Glen, Mrs. Hurley has served on the Alameda County Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Board for three years. She opened Storyland Preschool and an accredited Kindergarten in Livermore and successfully ran it for five years. Additionally, she initiated the Summer Fun Day Camp for 6-12 year olds. Mrs. Hurley obtained two  teaching credentials and taught in Charter Schools and for Mission College for six years.

On the school board, Ms. Hurley remains steadfast in her commitment to safeguarding the interests of the community's taxpayers while advocating passionately for parents and students. She firmly believes that Sunol Glen thrives as a learning environment when politics are kept outside the classroom, and the administration is singularly focused on the education of our children.
